The Puppy Who Saved a Life 🐶

A Routine Walk Turns Tragic

On a Thursday in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, Carly Riley was out for a walk with her three sons, Charlie, Josh, and Ben, and their seven-month-old German Shepherd-Collie mix, Geo. As they waited to cross the street, an out-of-control truck suddenly veered over the curb, speeding straight towards 10-year-old Charlie.

A Selfless Act of Bravery

In a split second, Geo sprang into action. The puppy pushed Charlie out of the path of the oncoming truck, taking the full impact himself. Geo was thrown into the street, where the truck struck him again before the driver fled the scene. Carly recalled, “Geo must have sensed it [the truck] as he leapt on Charlie and took him out the way.”

Fighting to Survive

Geo was left with a broken leg, a broken spine, and internal injuries. The veterinarians assured Carly that Geo would make a full recovery, but the family faced a daunting $16,000 vet bill. Determined to save their loyal pet, Carly and her husband decided to do whatever it took, setting up a Facebook page to share Geo’s progress and ask for donations.

A Hero’s Recovery

Against the odds, Geo made a full recovery. Back at home with his family, the brave puppy continued to be a beloved companion, always ready for a game of football or jumping on the trampoline with the boys he had saved.
