For 20 years, a man named Vladimír Sysa tirelessly gathered glass bottles to build his dream home. Neighbors were stunned when they saw the result—a house made entirely from thousands of bottles. What started as an unconventional idea became a stunning architectural feat.
A Unique Collection
Sysa’s obsession with glass bottle construction began in the late 1980s after learning about similar homes in a German magazine. With the help of his wife, Ľudmila, and their family, they meticulously washed and collected thousands of champagne bottles, sourcing them from dumpsters and friends.
Hard Work and Innovation
Building the house took years of planning, drawing, and constructing, with Sysa designing unique techniques to use the bottles effectively. The finished product provided not only a visually striking home but also one that stayed warm in winter and cool in summer, thanks to the insulating air pockets in the bottles.
A Lasting Legacy
Despite offers to sell their extraordinary creation, Sysa and his wife refused, cherishing the house as a testament to their dedication. Their property, complete with a sauna, pool, and even a bottle-built alley, remains a symbol of hard work and perseverance.
