Dining with Giants
Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya, offers guests an extraordinary experience: enjoying meals alongside Rothschild giraffes. Built in 1932 and now a boutique hotel, it allows visitors to share their breakfast as these gentle giants poke their heads through the windows.
Saving a Species
In 1974, Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville purchased the manor and began a giraffe breeding program to help protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Their efforts successfully increased the population, and the manor became a sanctuary for these majestic animals.
Close Encounters
Every morning and evening, the giraffes visit the dining area, craning their long necks into the manor to greet guests and nibble on snacks. It’s a rare opportunity to feed and interact with these majestic creatures right at the breakfast table.
