Titu stated he was Suresh Verma, the owner of Suresh Radio in Agra’s Sadar Bazaar, describing himself as a smuggler and a “goonda.” After locating the shop, Titu’s family brought the boy to visit. He immediately identified Suresh’s widow and children as his own.
Titu accurately recognized a photograph of Suresh, navigated the layouts of the store and home, and used specific family nicknames. In 1988, India Today documented that Titu possessed a distinct birthmark on his head in the exact spot where Suresh suffered the fatal gunshot wound.
Debunking the Internet Myths
Recent viral TikTok videos claim Titu identified his killer and helped police prosecute the culprit. These details are unsubstantiated. According to a 1989 study by researcher Antonia Mills, Titu recalled the fatal gunshot but explicitly stated he was unable to identify the attackers.
There is no solid evidence proving his words solved the crime. The verifiable facts diverge from the sensationalized versions circulating online, focusing strictly on the details of Suresh’s life that the toddler recalled.
Explaining the Unexplainable
Skeptics point to earthly explanations for the boy’s knowledge. Titu’s father traveled to Agra daily and frequently read local newspapers. The press covered Suresh’s death for three consecutive days.
